Education in the Community

The Challenge

According to a report released by UNESCO, women and girls continue to be disproportionately affected by poverty, social inequality and gender discrimination which create a barrier for them to access and indeed complete primary, secondary and higher education. The recent world-wide health crisis, has further exacerbated this problem meaning that greater numbers of girls from communities in need, are not able to access proper education.

Our Response

The Regros Annual Scholarship

While primary education is now free in many countries, we recognise that there are still financial barriers to education that do not come in form of school fees. Uniforms, books, shoes and a range of other resources remain out of reach for many families within developing communities.

The Regros Annual Scholarship was launched in 2019 as part of our wider community engagement programme to provide the necessary funding for girls to remain in education from pre-school up to higher Education.
